Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda received today Director of the World Bank for South-East Europe, Europe and Central Asia Ellen Goldstein, with whom he discussed the ongoing projects intended to step-up economic and social reforms in BIH.

The meeting agreed on evident progressing in reform processes in BIH, confirmed by filling-in of BIH application for EU membership, pointing out that it is a good opportunity for launching new projects and improvement of cooperation with international financial institutions.

Director Goldstein  assessed the filling of the application for BIH's membership in the EU as an historic moment and congratulated for this manful breakthrough, adding that it is important to add it up to the economic momentum.

Minister Bevanda underlined that a great deal of work has been done at the BIH level, and that activities will be intensified tin order to open the door for new investments and secure economic growth.

The meeting also discussed soon-to-happen an International Monetary Fund mission, and  continuation of cooperation with the Work Bank through development programmes which have yielded considerable results thus far.

Country Director of the World Bank in BIH Tamara Proskuryakova informed Minister Bevanda of the on-going projects in BIH, which relate to social reforms, public companies recovery programmes and infrastructure projects.
