Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Sarajevo with special envoy of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin on current political developments and European road of BIH.

The meeting concluded that relations between
the two countries are good, friendly and without outstanding issues, Chairwoman
Krišto expressed her gratitude to the Federal Republic of Germany for a
continuous support to your country, adding that at this moment we need further
and strong political support of the EU, to enable fulfilment of obligations and
soon opening of accession talks. Sarrazin said Germany considers the place of
Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the EU, therefore it should not lag behind countries
of the region. He added that the FR Germany supports the European integrations
process, and holds it important to improve rule of law, democracy and economic
development, precisely to accelerate implementation of necessary reforms in
BIH.
Chairwoman Krišto said the Council of Ministers
of BIH remains dedicated to the European integrations and works diligently on
fulfilment of 8+1 i.e. 14 key priorities
from the European Commission Opinion. She reiterated dedication of the Council
of Ministers of BIH to the European road, adding that under the current
dynamics of work, she shares a justifiable optimism that Bosnia and Herzegovina
may open negotiations on membership by the end of 2023. She said that BIH
invests considerable efforts to harmonise its foreign policy with the Joint
foreign and security policy of the EU.
Chairwoman Krišto noted that support of
friendly Germany, as well as of all other friends in the EU, is very important
in stabilisation of political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but
permanent peace and stability should be built form inside, through agreement by
legitimate political representatives of people at all administrative-political
levels. She underlined that BIH progressing depends largely of strengthening
and improvement of mutual confidence, internal dialogue and consensus, especially
about the most important internal policy issues concerning implementation of
the BIH Constitutional Court decision and awards by the European Court for Human Rights, which
requires limited constitutional reforms and amendments of the Election Law of
BIH. (end)
