Meeting Chairman Zvizdić - President Van den Bellen on Support to European Aspirations of BIH



Chairman Zvizdić informed President Van den Bellen of the current economic and political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including of the progress Bosnia and Herzegovina made in fulfilment of requirements on its road towards the European Union and NATO.

He informed him of recently held meeting of Prime Ministers of the Western Balkans and of the agreed-to projects to be tabled at the Trieste Summit.

The Austrian President said that Austria supports an idea that all Western Balkans states become members of the European Union, which is one of the foreign policy aims of the republic of Austria. He expressed his full support to the Euro-Atlantic and European aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to the continuation of comprehensive reforms.

Chairman Zvizdić and President Van den Bellen agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s place is in the European Union.

Chairman Zvizdić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina hopes for Austrian support in the further European and NATO integrations processes and strengthening of ties with the European Union.

The meeting was attended by BIH Ambassador in Austria Tomislac Leko and Director of the Directorate for European Integrations of BIH Edin Dilberović.
