Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć, together with Deputy Chairman and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BH Vjekoslav Bevnda and Minister of Security of BIH Dragan Mektić, talked today in Sarajevo with deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America John J. Sullivan, informing him of the current political and economic situation in BIH. 

Chairman Zvizdić thanked to the USA for support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Euro-Atlantic road, saying that the Council of Ministers of BIH will remain strongly committed to the European and NATO integrations, and that the coming period of time will be devoted to continuation of reform processes.

The meeting stressed the importance of results achieved in security sector, especially when in question fight against extremism and terrorism, as well as continuation of judicial system reform.

Deputy Secretary of State Sullivan commended the efforts previously taken by the Council of Ministers of BIH, especially in realisation of priorities related to Euro-Atlantic integrations and economic growth. He emphasised extreme importance for BIH to deliver an annual national programme, necessary for the activation of MAP. He said that the USA will keep on with continuous support to aims and reforms of BIH on the road to Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Chairman Zvizdić said that the integration of BIH into the European Union and NATO is a basis for a stable political and economic progress of BIH and that both the MAP activation and obtaining of the candidate status in the European Union would give to Bosnia and Herzegovina a new positive momentum on the EU road.

The meeting was attended by US Ambassador in BIH Maureen Cormack.
