Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić received in Sarajevo a delegation of members of the British Group Inter-Parliamentarian Union (BGIPU), staying in a multi-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by BGIPU Chair Nigel Evans. 

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for support and assistance the United Kingdom extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina through British-German Initiative, which gave a positive momentum to launching the reform process and acceleration of the EU integration of BIH. He noted a considerate friendly support of the United Kingdom in the process of BIH European and Euro-Atlantic integrations, stressing that BIH appreciates the UK support in the process of BIH integrations to the EU, as it comes from one of a major advocate of the EU enlargement. Chairman Zvizdić expressed his confidence that even after leaving the European Union, the United Kingdom would continue to support reform processes in BH on its road to the EU.

Members of the British Group Inter-Parliamentarian Union commended the process made by the Council of Ministers over the last three years, noting their hope that that the road to the European Union and NATO will be faster over the coming period.

They discussed the up-coming Western Balkans Summit to be held in London, July 9-10, 2018, expected to cover economy, security and policy, as the main topics.

During the talks, the meting concluded that the economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom are modest, however with a significant potentials, proved by the BIH-UK foreign trade exchange marking an importance increase increasing in 2017 in relation to the previous period of time.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for the importance the UK Government attaches to the anniversary of remembrance to Srebrenica genocide victims, to be market in London this year, as well as in other cities thought the UK.
