Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić received today in Sarajevo in an introductory visit Ambassador of Montenegro in BIH Milan Lakić, with whom he discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries. 

They said that these two friendly countries have good cooperation and no outstanding issues. The expressed their pleasure for recent signing of an Agreement on Border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, which sent a positive message to the whole region about the way to solve open issues between good neighbours.

Chairman Zvizdić said that BIH is interested for father linking of business people and economies. He pointed out that the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to be a part of the Adriatic-Ionian Motorway, a section of which would run through our country. He said that such solution is supported by economic arguments about the project cost, in addition to political arguments on a  tighter transport linkage of the South east of Europe.

Ambassador Lakić said that the current annual exchange of goods between the two countries stands at about EUR 110 million and that there is a possibility for its improvement. He added that tourists form Bosnia a Herzegovina account for about 15-20 per cent of all visitors to Montenegro. He said that the improvement of road communication Foča – Šćepan Polje would considerably increase the flow of people and goods.

The meeting emphasised clear Euro-Atlantic perspectives of both countries.

Ambassador Lakić expressed a strong support of Montenegro for the European way of Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying that Montenegro is ready to share tis experiences with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
