Zvizdić – Mogherini: To Use Positive Reform Momentum for Accelerating BIH's EU Road

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić talked in Strasbourg with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini on the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Chairman Zvizdić said that the EU membership is the top foreign policy priority and strategic aim of BIH, which is simultaneously a driving force for many affirmative social and political changes in our country. He stressed that the Council of Ministers of BIH, together with Entity Governments, defined a set of measures last July, the Reform Agenda 2015-20128, the implementation of which Bosnia and Herzegovina is functionally getting closer to the EU. He added that the Council of Ministers of BIH has already implemented about a haft of these measures, emphasising that based on these strong reform break through, BIH has submitted its application for the EU membership this February, adding that it is very important for BIH, and for the region, as well, to use this momentum and continue progressing under the Euro-Atlantic integrations.

High Representative Mogherini commended the progress made by BIH thus far on tis European way, underlining that it is the right time to comply with earlier reached agreements as for both the adaptation of the Stabilisation and Accession Agreement and coordination mechanism.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for support and assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European integrations process, and expressed his belief that the support would continue in the context to getting the candidate status by the end of year 2017.
