Chairman of the council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met today in Sarajevo with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčak. They discussed the bilateral relations of the two states and on European integrations process. 

They agreed that there are no outstanding issues between BIH and the Slovak Republic and that their bilateral relations are good and friendly, which leis firm grounds for future strengthening of cooperation. Minister Lajčak congratulated to Chairman Zvizdić for notable progress of BIH on the road to the European Union and on constructive and productive work of the Council of Ministers of BIH. He offered assistance of his state in fulfilling requirements to be set to BIH by the European Union, saying that the Slovak Republic will continue to support BIH.

Chairman Zvizdić said that the road towards the European Union runs through reforms, noting that BIH is ready to take such tasks. He informed him about the progress being made within the European integrations process, pointing out that activities of the incumbent Council of Ministers of BIH are marked by affirmative political will and readiness for issue-solving by way of agreement making. He stressed the regional cooperation is one of the key priorities of the Council of Ministers, saying that good neighbourly relations with other countries of the Western Balkans region are relevant factor of development of relations and cooperation between the European Union and BIH.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for the assistance the Slovak Republic has pledged and delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina following last year’s floods, specifically to child playground visited yesterday by Minister Lajčak, who opened it solemnly on behalf of his state and handed it over for use to children of Srebrenica.
