Zvizdić – Hahn: To Invest Additional Efforts to Solve Key European Integrations Challenges

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć met today in Strasbourg with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, with whom he discussed the fulfilment of the remaining requirements for getting the candidate status in the Eu by the end of 2017. 

Chairman Zvizdić stressed the strong commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina to continuation of the reform processes, with an aim of getting the candidate status by the end of year 2017. He said the all-level authorities in BIH will invest additional efforts to continue the reform processes and fulfil the major requirements so that the Council of EU would be able to consider the BIH membership application and make a favourable decision.

Commissioner Hahn said that sector state-level strategies need to be developed and adopted in the future period of time in the areas of transport and energy, which reflect the whole-state priorities.

They exchanged opinions on the census of population, on which Commissioner Hahn  said that the results should be published as soon as possible, in accordance with the Law and EUROSTAT recommendations.

Chairman Zvizdić briefed Commissioner Hahn on the status of key conditions for continuation of the European integrations, and expressed his belief that all political stakeholders in BIH will show their responsibility towards this historic chance we are faced with and fulfil the remaining EU requirements, to result eventually result in receiving a relevant questionnaire.
