Zvizdić – Bjorner: Our Direction is Reform Road towards EU and NATO

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić talked with Cecilia Bjorner, Director-General of International Development Cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden on the current political developments in BIH, and informed her of the expected effects of the of the economic reforms agenda. 

He informed the visitor of the Council of Ministers aims, saying that the main focus will be on the European Union and NATO integrations processes, along with BIH economic development, rule of law, and fight against crime, corruption and terrorism. He stressed that reforms in BIH will be difficult, but that the Council of Ministers is ready to launch them.

Director-General Bjorner said that the Western Balkans is very important for the European Union, and that together with international financial institutions it will assist Bosnia and Herzegovina to realise its reform process. She underlined that the Kingdom of Sweden will put a special emphasis in its new assistance plan for BIH to economic development, trade promotion and rule of law, in addition to development of renewable sources of energy.

The meeting was attended by newly-appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden in BIH Frederik Schiller. (end)
