Total KM 10.1 Million of Post-Floods Assistance Earmarked to Entity Governments and Brčko District Government



Based on a Decision of the Council of Ministers the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BIH plaid to accounts of the Governments of the Federation of BIH, Rrepublika Srpska and Brčko District funds collected at the special purpose sub-accounts for assistance to areas affected by May 2014 floods in BIH.

At the BIH level, total KM 10.165, 198.30 were provided for, out of which KM 7.1 million were secured by way of Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Budget of BIH Institutions and International Obligations of BIH, while the remaining part of resources was paid to sub-accounts for assistance to flood-affected areas in BIH and by setting aside of one-day salary of employees in the BIH Institutions.

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BIH paid to the accounts of the Ministries of Finance of the Federation and Republika Srpska KM 4,980,947.17 each and KM 203,303.96 to the Brčko District account.

The Council of Ministers of BIH, at its session of July 30 this year adopted a decision to forward funds collected at the special-purpose accounts to Entity and Brlko District Governments in the proportion of 49 per cent to both Entity Governments and 2 per cent to the Brčko District Government.

Conclusive with July 29, 2014, the foreign currency sub-account, which the Ministry of Finance and Treasury opened for assistance to flood-affected areas in BIH, received total EUR 335,228, USD 670,150.30 and GBP 4,081.51, while the KM sub-account received KM 610,300.30. At the sub-account for set aside of one-day salary of employees in the BIH Institutions for the assistance to flooded areas, total KM 773,498.31 were paid in.

After the disbursement of funds collected by July 29, additional EUR 15,284.87and USD 19,982.81 were paid to foreign currency sub-accounts, while KM 398.14 were received at the KM sub-account for contributions from one-day salaries of BIH Institutions employees.

The funds to be collected in the coming period of time will be disbursed on monthly basis in the same proportion, i.e. subject to the Decision of the Council of Ministers of BIH.
