Statement by Chairman of Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić

“At today’s session of the Collegium of the Council of Ministers of BIH, attended by my Deputies, Minister Šarović and Bevanda, we decided jointly to hold, instead of regular session, a phone session of the Council of Ministers of BIH, at which materials concerning clearly defined deadlines were considered and adopted, while the next regular session will be held the next week. 

Important to note that we, as the Council of Ministers of BIH, will take effort to be a voice of reason in currently boiling atmosphere, as the operations of the Council of Ministers affect operations of numerous institutions and implementation of many projects, important for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When it comes to the current internal relations within BIH, I urge to defusing the tensions and using appropriate rhetoric, because competing in giving as radical statements possible will not take us to solutions. The solution is in an institutional dialogue, compliance to the Constitution of BIH and continuity of the legal acts in force, as well as in continuation of implementation of projects and reforms leading us towards the European Union, strengthening of our economy and job generation.

As to the regional cooperation, the Council of Ministers of BIH will continue its cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, since we are the first neighbours and are directed to each other. I expect Prime Minister Vučić, as a rational and wise person, to send a message of the same or similar contents after his meeting with representatives of the state institutions and institutions of the BIH Entity RS, announced for tomorrow.

The continuation of cooperation, promotion of overall relations, defusing tensions, and peace and stability in the region have no alternative.”
