Chairwoman of Council of Ministers of BIH Talks with Governor of Central Bank of BIH

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto met in Sarajevo today with Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Jasmina Selimović.

The meeting discussed the current macroeconomic developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stability of financial system, inflation trends, and the Central Bank role in maintaining monetary and financial stability.

They also discussed activities concerning preparation of SEPA system application, which would help decrease enormous fees for cross border transactions. Governor Selimović briefed Chairwoman Krišto on a progress made in drafting required regulations for harmonisation with criteria set by the European Payment Council for SEPA membership in the area of payment operations and that the Central Bank has submitted a pre-application for membership in SEPA system.

Chairwoman Krišto highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the Council of Ministers of BIH and Central Bank of BIH, underlining that the maintenance of macroeconomic stability is one among key preconditions for economic growth, social security and finally, continuation of necessary reform steps along the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
