Minister Vrankić Talks with IMF Delegation

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Vrankić talked with Head of IMF Mission Costas Christou on macroeconomic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 2010 Budget Execution. 

They assessed jointly that B-H Institutions have met all their obligations under the Stan-Bay Arrangement, and that the 2010 Budget Execution went as planned.

Minister Vrankić informed the IMF delegation on the consequences of the delay in adoption of 2011 Budget of B-H Institutions and International Obligations of B-H. They agreed that it is of an utmost importance to adopt Budget for 2011 as soon as possible.

They also discussed the operation of the Fiscal Council of B-H, and concluded that the Fiscal Council of B-H should represent a strategic body for comprehensive analyses and measure proposals for improvement of the economic and fiscal environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The visit of the IMF Delegation is a technical one and it is a part of preparation activities for the Fourth Review of Stand-by Arrangement, which will be completed after the new Council of Ministers of B-H takes office.
