Minister Špirić Talks with Foreign Minister of India

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić received in Sarajevo today Minister of foreign Affairs of India Prenet Kaur.
They assessed that India and BIH have very good bilateral relations, and that there is an interest among Indian businessmen to increase their investments in BIH, which have been made to date mostly in industry sector, reaching EUR 110 million value.
Prenet confirmed that India plans to open its Embassy in BIH next year, which would enhance additionally business contacts, but also communication among citizens of the two countries.
Minister Špirić stressed that it is necessary to conclude inter-governmental treaties in several sectors in order to provide an institutional backing to cooperation and facilitate the flow of capital and goods between BIH and India.
The Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH said that it is necessary to prepare a Double Taxation Agreement and speed-up negotiations for the conclusion of bilateral cooperation agreements in the sectors of tourism, education, science, culture and sports.
The meeting said that the Joint Business Committee will meet in Sarajevo this September, when representatives of Chambers of Commerce of India and BIH should meet, together with businessmen for which this meeting should open the way for a closer cooperation.
