Minister Špirić Receives Hungarian Ambassador in BIH

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić received in Sarajevo today Ambassador of Hungary in BIH Josef Pandur.

It was said at the meeting that BIH and Hungary enjoy good bilateral cooperation, but that there is space for tis improvement in many areas.

Ambassador Pandur said that Hungary is determined to offer support to BIH on tis path towards the EU, which is the same position in regard to all counties of the region. He added that it is important to implement reforms in BIH that are necessary on tis EU way, expressing his expectations that BIH will fulfil its obligations from the ECHR Award in case Sejdić&Finci.

Minister Špirić stressed that this year’s Budget provides for funds to al BIH institutions having an important role in the European integrations process, which includes the construction of border crossings between BIH and the republic of Croatia, soon to become a member of the EU.

The Minister of Finance and Treasury expects the 2012 Budget to be adopted at the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH regardless of on-going sharp debates among parliamentarian parties. He said that although this year’s Budget is the restrictive one, as it implies a public spending reduction, it is 6 per cent higher in relation to last year’s Budget.

Ambassador Pandur said Hungary, as all other EU countries, decreased its public spending, including reduction of the number of employees in state administrations, which came as a direct consequence of the present economic crisis.
