Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić met in Sarajevo with Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in BIH Ahmet Yildiz. Minister Špirić assessed that very good bilateral relations between BIH and Turkey represent a basis for fostering of ties between the two countries. Špirić said that there is a lot of space especially for development of economic cooperation between BIH and Turkey.
At the meeting they discussed possibilities of a strong inflow of Turkish investments in BIH. Minister Špirić invited Ambassador Yildiz to encourage Turkish businessmen to invest into BIH, explaining that BIH has rich resources in energy sector, in tourism and other fields. He said that BIH needs to work a lot more on removal and administrative barriers faced by potential investors. The Minister of Finance informed Ambassador of Turkey of the current political and economic situations in BIH, and challenges BIH faces in its EU integration process.
