Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Deputy Chairman and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić received today in an introductory visit Ambassador of Slovenia in BIH Iztok Grmek.
Minister Špirić welcomed Ambassador Grmek and wished him success in his diplomatic mission in BIH.
The meeting discussed the Agreement on Succession Issues of ex-SFRY and organisation of a meeting of the Standing Joint Committee of High Representatives of Successor Countries, to be held in Sarajevo.
Minister Špirić reminded this the Committee had been already scheduled for September, but had to be postponed due to health conditions of the Slovenian representative, so a process of setting-up a new term of the meeting, convenient to all successor countries’' representatives, is currently on-going.
The visit of Ambassador Grmek was a chance for Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Nikola Špirić to sign an agreement setting-up a Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF), in compliance with a Decision of the BIH Presidency.
The CEF role is the strengthening of SEE Finance Ministries cooperation, while the Agreement has already been signed by Finance Ministers of Croatia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Montenegro and Slovenia.
At the meeting raised a shared view that BIH and Slovenia have good bilateral relations, and that positive and stabilised indicators of the foreign exchange between the two countries are getting further improved.
Ambassador Grmek stressed that Slovenia will continue providing a comprehensive support to BIH on its way towards the EU, and underlined that an agreement on modus of implementation of the European Court for Human Rights ruling in case ‘Sejdić-Finci’ is of a vital importance for the EU integrations process.
