Minister Špirić Receives Ambassador of Saudi Arabia



Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury dr. Nikola Špirić received today Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in BIH Eid Mohammed Athakafi.            

Ambassador Althakafi informed Špirić of a proposal on property exchange between two countries, namely Saudi Arabia would concede to BIH its building for the needs of diplomatic consular office of BIH in Washington and in turn it expects allocation of a parcel in Sarajevo community of Poljine where Saudi residence building would be constructed.

Minister Špirić said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the responsible party for the procedure, while the Ministry of Finance and Treasury is only expected to issue its opinion on financial aspect of the proposal, with prior analyse of the status and value of the property to be subject of the exchange.

Minister Špirić said that a final decision on this matter will be made by the Council of Ministers of BIH, which requires implementation of all prior legal procedures.

The meeting stressed that good bilateral relations between BIH and Saudi Arabia and that activities should continue on improvement of cooperation in all domains.
