Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Dr Nikola Špirić received in Sarajevo newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Finland in BIH Pekko Metso, seated in Ljubljana. Minister Špirić informed the Ambassador of Finland on his own views of developments in BIH in economic and financial areas. The Minister of Finance and Treasury said that BIH needs to agree on the 2012 Budget as soon as possible, which implies an agreement on the 2012-2014 Global Fiscal Framework, and that both of which would make the country a credible partner to the international financial institutions.

They discussed the current political situation in BIH, following setting-up the new Council of ministers of BIH, and adoption of the Law on Census and Law on State Aid. A need for soon implementation of the “Sjedić&Finci” Award was stressed. Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH stated that all reforms in BIH would fail without a confidence-based internal dialogue taking place. They exchanged their views on Balkan countries’ applying to EU membership. Ambassador Metso stated that his country strongly advocates for further enlargement of the European Union.
