Minister Špirić Received Newly-Appointed Head of Political and Economic Division of the US Embassy in BIH

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Ttreasury Nikola Špirić talked with newely-appointed Head of Political and Economic Division of the US Embassy in BIH Albert Payott.
The meeting touched upon the current political and economic developments in BIH, and on needed reforms to be implemented in order to accelerate the BIH moving towards the European Union.
Minister Špirić underlined that the regional cooperation is of a special importance for BIH, inevitable in order to take the reforms further and make a soon breakthrough on the European integrations agenda, as the other countries of the region are either well advanced in their respective accession processes or are already a part of the European Union.
The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers stressed that the progress along the European path, and economic strengthening alike, may be only realised through a full consensus within BIH, rather than waiting for a solution to be produced by international factors.
The meeting discussed the up-coming general elections in BIH, and Minister Špirić assessed that no major changes should be expected to take place after the elections this October, and that government needs to be formed as soon as possible after the elections in order to tackle with numerous challenges head of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Payott said that the USA stand ready to assist BIH in the reform implementation and that they will continue extending their support.
