Minister Sarovic met with Minister Milovanovic and Minister Ivankovic-Lijanovic

On the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister Sarovic held a meeting with Mr. Miroslav Milovanovic, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Jerko Ivankovic-Lijanovic, Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of BiH, Mr. Pejo Mendes, Director of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Brcko District, Mr. Ljubomir Kalaba, BiH Veterinary Office Director, Mr Radenko Radovic, Director of Plant Health Protection Administration of BiH, and representatives of Directorate for European Integration. The meeting focused on current topics in the field of agriculture.
Minister Sarovic informed the participants of the letter received from the EU's enlargement directorate on taking action to remove barriers to further implementation of the IPA 2009 project - Agriculture Market Information System (LPIS and AMIS), worth a total of 3.4 million euros.
In accordance with the requirements from the letter, the participants responded positively to the availability of staff required for the implementation and use of the project, and the possibilities of free flow of data from servers in both entities to the data server of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
In light of emerging events related to export of milk to the Republic of Croatia, it was agreed to tighten control measures at border crossings with neighboring countries, especially the control of import of milk and meat into BiH.
The participants agreed upon completion of the so-called "hygiene package" by adopting the Ordinance on Microbiological Criteria and Ordinance on the Procedure for Approval of Establishments Engaged in Livestock Breeding, Production, Processing, Treatment and Storage of Animal Products for export to the EU market.
In addition, the form and content of the phytosanitary certificate was agreed as proposed by the Plant Health Protection Administration of BiH. The participants of the meeting unanimously supported the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH for the introduction of blue diesel. (end)
