Minister Šarović and Ministar Genc Ruli signed Agreement on Cooperation in Veterinary field between Council of Ministers of BiH and Council of Ministers of Albania

Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina led by Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH met today in Tirana with a delegation of the Republic of Albania. The BiH delegation, next to Minister Šarović, was composed of the Director of Veterinary Office, Mr. Ljubomir Kalaba, Assistant Minister for International Trade Relations, Mr. Midhat Salić, Adviser to the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of BiH, Mr. Suad Čamdžić, and the non-resident Ambassador of BiH to Albania, Mr. Nusret Čančar.

The delegation of the Republic of Albania was composed of Mr. Genc Ruli, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection, Ms. Arjana Misha, Direczot of European Integration, Ms. Eleona Varfi, Advisor to the Minister, Mr. Sotiraq Papa, Chief of Veterinary Office, and Mr. Kristaq Profkola, Director of Legal Affairs.

Minister Šarović met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy in the Government of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edmond Haxhinasto with whom he talked about liberalization of a part of trade in the field of CEFTA. The two Ministers agreed to intensify cooperation between Chambers of Commerce through trade fair visits in both countries, and they also agreed on liberalization of customs tariffs for a number of products which were subject to the customs regime. This will allow BiH producers, primarily of milk and meet, to export to Albania under better terms.

After this bilateral meeting, the BiH delegation led by Minister Šarović met with the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection, Mr. Genc Ruli. After the meeting, the Ministers signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Veterinary Field between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania. This Agreement will facilitate circulation of live animals and products of animal origin, at the same time ensuring protection of animal and public health in order to prevent introduction of communicable animal diseases and harmful products of animal origin.
