Minister Ljubić and ICRC Representative: Support to Process of Search for Missing Persons

Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of BIH Damir Ljubić received in Sarajevo today Barbara Hintermann, Head of Operations for North America, Central and South-Eastern Europe of the International Committee of Red Cross, with whom he discuss the process of search for missing persons in BIH.

The ICRC representative handed over to Minister Ljubić the documentation concerning about 9,500 missing persons in BIH, expressing her hope that the data provided will facilitate the activities of the Institute for Missing Persons and help find out the fate of all missing persons.

Minister Ljubić thanked for the support provided by the ICRC to date to this process, and assessed that the delivered data will enable verification of the central data base with the Institute for Missing Persons.

Stressing a need for finding out the fate of all missing persons, Minister Ljbić said that the Ministry for Human Rights and Refuges will continue to monitor and support the process, since it is about a very important humanitarian issue.

During the meeting they discussed the activities of the BIH Red Cross Society.
