Minister Hadžić: Census of Population to Be Held This October



Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić and Director of the Agency for Statistics of BIH Zdenko Milinković held a coordination meeting, in Sarajevo today, concerning the preparations for the Census of population, households and dwellings. They underlined that the Agency for Statistics of BIH and Council of Ministers of BIH sent for a parliamentarian procedure a Proposal Amendments of the Law on Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in BIH.

The Agency sent an initiative to Entity Statistic Institutes, requiring an adjustment of their respective regulations with the Law on Census of Population, Households and dwellings in BIH.

The Census will be held in the period of time between October 1 and 15, 2013, and according to Minister Hadžić, there will be in no case any other delays.

A framework Census Action, containing deadlines and holders of activities, should be adopted by the Central Census Bureau until February 5, 2013 and send to the Council of Ministers of BIH. Statistical institutes should revise, within next 15 days, costs schedule and prepare a proposal agreement on the Census implementation financial plan, so that the Census might be conducted pursuant to the Law.

The coordination meeting concluded that a progress has been made in reconciliation of questionnaires and activities were launched for finding solutions also for the enumeration process in Entity border areas, development of methodology of space register in BIH and development of a single register of spatial units in BIH.
