Ministar Jusko at the Summit in Paris: Support of the European Commission to B&H is encouraging



Minister of Communications and Transport of B&H Ismir Jusko, as a member of B&H delegation headed by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H Denis Zvizdić, participated at the Summit of leaders of the Western Balkan Countries held in Paris. French President Francois Hollande made the introductory speech at the Plenary Session of the Heads of States or Governments. High officials of Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Monte Negro and B&H attended the Summit. The Summit was also attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Italian Prime minister Matteo Renzi. Minister Jusko held a speech at the Round Table on transport infrastructure in the scope of the Summit.

-          Two continuous activities at the elaboration of the strategic framework for the transport area are ongoing in B&H. In the last 15 days Governments of the entities and Brčko District adopted their transport strategies based on which the Draft of the framework Transport Strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been elaborated for the period 2016 – 2030, said Minister Jusko among other things introducing the participants of the Round Table on the activities performing in B&H in the area of transport infrastructure.

He specially emphasized that, regarding the Transport Strategy, it is done significantly much for 45 days than for the whole previous period of the Ministry existence and use the opportunity to express his gratitude to the representatives of the entities and Brčko District that have participated in the work of Working Group that elaborated the Draft of the Framework Strategy.

Minister also emphasized that the Framework Transport Strategy of B&H is a key element for the applying for projects financed by EU funds. The most important fact is that B&H projects have not been rejected but are in the process of waiting until the adoption of the Framework Transport Strategy of B&H, and we do not have much time to do that.

 Representatives of the EC delegation expressed very positive opinion on the progress made so far and give their support regarding the adoption of the Transport Strategy of B&H by the Council of Ministers of B&H as soon as possible. Also, an encouraging fact has been emphasized that the leaders of the Western Balkan Countries are open for the regional cooperation. It is emphasized that the transport infrastructure of the Western Balkan Countries has already included in the regional integrations. At the end, French Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Agenda Emmanuel Macron, emphasized that the structural reforms of the Western Balkan Countries are challenge regarding continuation of Berlin Process.

 As a member of B&H delegation, Minister Justo attended the working dinner in Elysee Palace hosted by the President of the French Republic François Hollande.
