International Meetings for Peace

Sarajevo, September 9-11

Sarajevo will be the venue of an International Meeting for Peace, on September 9.-11, 2012, gathering government and other officials and religious leaders form throughout the world. The purpose of the meeting is a dialogue of cultures and religions to promote peace and co-existence.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda will attend the opening ceremony of the Meeting in Skenderija Hall, on September 9, at 17.00 hrs. On Monday, September 10, 28 panel sessions will be organised, and on Tuesday, September 11, prayers for peace will be followed by a joint peace procession.

The title of the meeting “Living together Is Our Future – Religions and Cultures in Dialogue” is organised by the Community of Sant’Egidio from Rome, together with the Islamic Community of BIH, Serbian Orthodox Church, Catholic Archdiocese of Vrhbosanska in Sarajevo and Jewish Community in Sarajevo, under the patronage of the Council of Ministers of BIH.
