Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo EU DG Enlargement Commissioner Štefan Füle, with whom he attended the second meeting of the High Level Dialogue on EU Accession Process of BIH, with a focus on implementation of the Road Map, agreed on the First meeting of June 27, 2012.

Chairman Bevanda expressed at a press conference his pleasure with the atmosphere at the second meeting of the Dialogue, which gathered representatives of institutions and political leaders in BIH (SNSD, SDS, HDZ BiH, HDZ 1990, ADP BiH, SBB and SDA).

At the meeting he addressed a coordination mechanism of BIH on EU issues. “We have made a sizable progress and all discrepancies from the past period we have drawn to two technical issues”, Chairman Bevanda stated, expressing his hope that in coming days these two remaining uncertainties will be removed so that the best solution might be arrived at.

“What pleases me in particular, and what is also understanding of Commissioner Füle, is the atmosphere of the Dialogue. Preciseness and fairness at bilateral meetings give rise to confidence and conviction that the Council of Ministers will enjoy a strong support from the new parliamentarian majority for everything that is a creative solution along the way to the EU”, the Chairman of BIH Council of Ministers underlined.

Commissioner Füle said that the second meeting of the Dialogue on Accession Process was a clear signal of a strong commitment of the EU to Bosnia and Herzegovina and tis citizens.

Underlining a large number of political, economic and social reforms that have to take place in the EU integrations process, he expressed his regret for BIH representatives failed to fulfil key commitments, they took over at the first meeting of the Dialogue.

“There is still missing a political agreement on implementation of ‘Sejdić-Finci’ award. The model of coordination for all-level authorities  in BIH on EU-related issues is not proposed yet”, the European Commissioner specified, stressing that the tasks ahead of BIH in the European integrations process will not change. “The June 27 Road Map remains valid”, Füle said.

Commissioner Füle appreciated an intensified engagement of all political parties concerning the promotion of EU integrations-related activities.

The next meeting of the High Level dialogue is agreed to be held in the second half of February 2013.
