Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić talked in Zagreb today with Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia Siniša Hajdaš Dončić on projects of transport corridor passage through the area of Neum and construction of international bridges across Sava River near Svialj and near Gradiška.

Minister Hajdaš Dončić informed Minister Hadžić of the Neum corridor project, which the Republic of Croatia agreed with the European Commission, and of position of Brussels that the construction of such corridor would be only possible with the consent of both countries and accompanied by a bilateral agreement.

In regard to that, an inter-governmental expert work group should be formed which should develop a proposal text agreement on free passage through Neum and use of the Ploče Port.

Minister Hadžić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina will not contest the sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia and its right to link country’s north and south, but that it expects that BIH’s right, in conformity with the UN conventions in force, to have a free access to international waters concerning the construction of a Pelješac bridge will be respected.
