Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić talked in Sarajevo with representatives of the World Bank, Entity line Ministries and representatives of the Brčko District of BIH on the implementation of the “Modernisation of Water Way of the Sava River” Project.
“It is a great pleasure to have an excellent cooperation with the World Bank continued though this project. This is one of the most important projects planned in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The rehabilitation of the water way of the Sava River and reconstruction of the Brčko Port will help establish a better navigability of the 344 km long Sava River water way through Bosnia and Herzegovina, which would accelerate the transport of goods, simultaneously improving the environment protection. The reconstruction of the port in Brčko, which is an integral part of the Project, will provide the Brčko District capacity to become a vehicle of economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Minister Hadžić said.
Head of the World Bank Office in BIH Anabela Abreu confirmed that the World Bank plans to support the project, worth USD 30 million of concessive IDA loan, which was welcomed by Minister of Communications and Transport of FBIH Enver Bijedić and Minister of Transport and Communications of RS Nedeljko Ćubrilović and Mayor of the Brčko District of BIH Ante Domić.
