Hadžić – Lompar Meeting: Construction of Transport Infrastructure is Common Goal and Precondition for Economic Prosperity

At today’s meeting in Podgorica, Ministers Hadžić and Lompar exchanged views on improvement of cooperation in the road and railway transport sectors and civil aviation, and discussed implementation of joint projects in these areas.
The modernisation and reconstruction of the road infrastructure linking BIH and Montenegro at Šćepan Polje – BIH Border section, and construction of railway section Nikšić-Čapljina are the infrastructure projects necessary to improve the transport of passengers and goods, and basis for overall enhancement of economic cooperation of two countries, it was jointly conclusion from today’s meeting.
Minister Hadžić said that improvement of the existing and construction of new transport infrastructure is a common aim of BIH and Montenegro and a precondition for further prosperity of the region. He underlined that they agreed on drafting of a memorandum on Air Traffic and introducing a direct air flight line Podgorica – Sarajevo, which would allow an accelerated communication of business people and exchange of ideas and capital.
A joint understanding of Ministers Hadžić and Lompar is that the implementation of Adriatic-Ionian motorway project is a shared interest of BIH and Montenegro, and that the junction point between BIH and Montenegro is undisputable. In regard to that, it was agreed to form an intergovernmental working group to develop a proposal of final section of this joint motorway section.
