The development of BIH transport sector policies and strategy and development of road traffic safety strategy represent the key preconditions for withdrawal of considerable IPA Funds starting from year 2014, Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić stated during his discussion with jean Claude Ebola, Permanent Twinning Advisor for IPA Projects
Minister Hadžić welcomed the development of project data base in the BIH transport sector, expected to be completed by June 20. This data base would include all transport sector projects both at State and Entity levels, which would mean a finalisation of the Twining Project implemented by the EU in the Ministry of Communications and Transport, the aim of which was to prepare the State administration for IPA Funds management.
It was jointly assessed that the State administration needs to be ready for IPA Funds management, especially following the obtaining of an EU member candidate status, that would enable it to use funds from the additional three IPA components in relation to regional development, human resources and rural development.
