The Fiscal Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina held its first session, chaired over by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić. The Fiscal Council of BIH is comprised of Prime Ministers of the Federation of BIH and Republika Srpska, Finance Ministers of BIH, Federation of BIH and Republika Srpska, and in the capacity of observers, Governor of the Central Bank of BIH and mayor of the Brčko District of BIH. 

The Fiscal Council of BIH adopted a 2014 Budget Execution Report, and took a resolution on the Fiscal Council of BIH budget for 2015.

The session was attended by the International Monetary Fund Mission staff members, led by Head of Mission Ron van Rooden. The Mission was in visit to BIH from April 28 to May 12 for talks under the IMF Section IV consultations.

The IMF Mission expressed its gratitude to BIH authorities and to all other its interlocutors for an excellent cooperation and sincere and open discussions. Reforms were marked as urgently needed, requiring an ambitious issue-solving plan, in order to accelerate growth, decrease unemployment and increase public administration effectiveness, with simultaneous maintenance of macroeconomic stability.

The IMF staff closely coordinates with other international institutions, including the EU, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in view of support to economic policy of BIH authorities.
