EUROPEAN PARTNERSHIP OF BIH AND CROATIA 

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined a Proposal Contract between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Government of the Republic of Croatia on European Partnership, under which the two states affirm the European values in tis bilateral and regional cooperation.

Concluding the Contract, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia establish and develop European partnership as a contribution to the European integrations of BIH.

Accord to the Contract, Croatia will, among other things, provide its assistance and will facilitate the course pf accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina t the European Union, and will transfer tis specific knowledge and experiences from its own European integrations process. Also, it will contribute to an effective harmonisation of BIH legislation with the EU acquis. The two states will prepare joint projects to candidate them for financial resources from the EU Funds.

A joint committee, comprised of representatives of both states, will be form for the implementation of the Contract.

The Proposal Contract will be provided to the BIH Presidency, and BIH Minister of Foreign Affairs was proposed as the BIH signatory.

 

BIH IMPLEMENTED EU DIRECTIVE ON REGULATED PROFESSIONS

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took a decision to designate the Ministry of Civil Affairs of VIH as a coordinating institution and Centre for Information and Recognition of High Education Documents for contact-points for application of the Road Map for implementation of the EU Directive on regulated professions 2005/36/EZ and 2013/55/EU.

According to the decision, the Centre for Information and Recognition of High Education Documents is due to provide required information to citizen s and all concerned on recognition of professional qualifications, such as information on relevant law in BIH.

Also, it will make available on its web site and up-date regularly the list of all regulated professions in BIH, including contact data of competent bodies for each regulated profession.

The coordinating institution and contact-point are due to cooperate with sub-coordinators from Republika Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina/Cantons ad Brčko District of BIH.

 

ASSISTANCE BY ARMED FORCES OF BIH TO CIVILIANS

 

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina responded to 586 requests for assistance last year, sent by civil bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reads Information of the ministry of Defence on assistance by the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to civil bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina in year 2016.

Other than fire extinguishing in Trebinje and Široki Brijeg, the Armed Forces of BIH demined 2,512,048 square km throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus increasing the realisation of plan for 5.2 per cent, in relation to year 2’15. Also, they took part in rehabilitation of roads in several municipalities in the whole territory of BIH and two kindergarten facilities, one in Pale and the other in Sarajevo. The Armed Forces of BIH exercised their social usefulness also during medical helicopter citizen evacuations, while users of their assistance were educational, sports, religious institutions, including numerous war veterans associations in BIH.

 

ACTION PLAN ADOPTED FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF JUSTICE REFORM STRATEGY

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took a decision, proposed by the Ministry of Justice, on adoption of an Action Plan for implementation of the 2014-2018 Justice Sector reform strategy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Action Plan defines a package of reform measures to be implemented by the competent institutions in BIH within realistically set deadlines in the course of 2017 and 2018 in the areas of judiciary, execution of criminal sanctions, access to justice, support to economic development, as well as the concerning issues of coordination, good governance and accountability of the BIH justice sector.

These measures are directed to, among other thing, improvement of effectiveness and transparency of operation of judiciary institutions and improved application of international standards in the justice sector.

The Council of Ministers of BIH assessed as relevant the work of the Conference of Justice Ministers of BIH in the process of system monitoring and assessing the reform measures and activities under the BIH Justice Sector Reform Strategy, and in that sense it expects it to meet regularly.

 

VOTE BY TURKISH CITIZENS IN BIH

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH, upon a proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, granted its consent for vote of citizens of the Republic of Turkey staying at the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at a referendum on constitutional changes in the Republic of Turkey.

Turkish citizens may vote on April 8 and 9, 2017 in time between 9.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. in the premises of the Embassy o the Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo. (end)
