STICKERS FOR CAR REGISTRATION FROM DEC. 5TH 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted Information of the Ministry of Communications and Transport on removal of supply problems faced by sticker car registration authorities, after a public procurement procedure was completed.

The Identification Documents, Evidence and Data Exchange Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) should take action form its competences to distribute stickers to car registration authorities, by Dec. 5, 2016, since when car registration stickers’ issuance will start.

The Ministry of Communications and Transport will advise the car registration competent authorities that as at Dec. 5th, 2016 a Dec. 31, 2015 Instruction on certification replacing stickers will become null and void.

 

BIH AND AUSTRIA PROMOTE STUDENT, CULTURAL, EDUCATION AND SPORTS INSITUTTIONS COOPERATION

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined a Proposal Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Government of the Republic of Austria on cooperation in culture, education, science, youth and sports, strengthening friendly relations between the two states and intensifying cooperation in mentioned areas.

Under the Agreement, proposed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, students, university professors and researchers will be invited to apply to each other contracting party’s scholarship programmes.

By concluding such an agreement, the two states support, as per financial possibilities, their cooperation in the area of women rights and gender equality, foster their cultural ties, and this way contribute to the European cultural identity and promote youth cooperation, as well as that of scientific institutions and sports organisations.

The Proposal Agreement will be provided to the BIH Presidency for further procedure, and the minister of Civil Affairs was proposed for the BIH signatory.

 

SUPPORT TO PROMOTION OF BIH ECONOMY ABROAD

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH decided, upon a proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, to distribute current grants funds in amount of KM 291,000.00 for the participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at fairs and like events abroad in 2016.

The funds were allocated in accordance to a Protocol between the BIH Foreign Trade Chamber and Ministry of Foreign Affairs on mutual cooperation and funds distribution for fairs and other forms of promotion of the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Fairs organised abroad are being supported is way, among which there are international fairs of tourism, furniture, vine, agriculture, food, technology, food and beverages.

The funds beneficiaries are obliged to report to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, within defined deadline, on purposeful spending of the funds received.

 

FIRST ROUND OD MEETIGNS OF BIH-EU JOINT BODIES

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted a supplemented Information, prepared by the Directorate for European Integrations on holding of the first meeting of the Sub-Committee for Internal Market and Competition, scheduled for Nov. 29, 2016 in Brussels, and of first meeting of the Sub-Committee for Transport, Energy, Environment and Regional Development, in Brussels, on Nov. 30, 2016.

Adopted were discussion documents for the first meetings of both Sub-Committees, and the Directorate for European Integrations is to provide them t the European Commission within the planned deadline.

The Council of Ministers of BIH gave its consent to proposal lists of delegations for the meetings, and tasked the Directorate for European Integrations to take other preparatory activities for the meetings, in cooperation with other competent institutions in BIH.

The session also adopted a supplemented Information of the Directorate for European Integrations on holding the first meeting of the Sub-Committee for Justice, Freedom and Security, to be held in Sarajevo, on Dec. 1-2, 2016, and adopted a discussion document along with list of BIH delegation for the meeting.

The meeting is to discuss, among other things, judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, anti-money laundering and anti-financing terrorism activities, implementation of the State Strategy for addressing war crimes files, anti-corruption policy, border management and visa policy.

 

ADOPTED FOURTH REPORT OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA ON NATIONAL MINORITIES PROTECTION

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted the Fourth Report of Bosnia and Herzegovina on legislative and other measures for implementation of the principles defined in the Framework Convention on Protection of National Minorities’ Rights, suggesting that the national minorities’ protection-related regulations have been improved over the past period of time.

BIH is committed to protect and insure rights of national minorities, says the Fourth Report, indicating that all necessary institutional conditions were met to enable national minorities to maintain and develop their ethnic, national, religious and cultural identity and get integrated into Bosnia and Herzegovina’s society.

Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Ban of Discrimination, adopted in 2016, protect additionally the minorities’ rights. Notions from the International Convention on ban of all forms of racial discrimination were incorporated into the BIH criminal laws.

The Budget of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BIH has reserved grant funds to finance projects by national minorities’ associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees will provide the Report for consideration to the Secretariat of the Framework Convention for National Minorities’ Rights Protection under the Council of Europe, in Strasburg.
