Council of Ministers of BIH Holds Its 8th Session

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined a proposal Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Service in Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to be provided by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury to the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH for consideration under an urgent procedure. 

The Law envisages that, on an exceptional basis, upon a proposal of the Ministry of Defence, a soldier who has been a member of the Army of RBIH, Croatian Defence Council or the Army of Republika Srpska, at least two years until December 23, 1995, and was in the military service on January 1, 2010, and whose service terminated pursuant to the Law, has the right to a status and reimbursement on that basis in the same way that the rights for similar categories were regulated by Entity legal regulations.

In accordance with relevant Entity legal regulations, Entity authorities will define a level and way of payment of these reimbursements to be provided from Entity budgets.

This Law takes effect on the day next following tis publication in the Official gazette of BIH.

In this way, the rights of formers soldiers are not annulled, but are agreed to be transferred to the Entities.

The funds in amount of KM 19.8 million provided in the BIH Budget will be transferred to Entity Pension Funds.

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined, by a majority vote, a Proposal Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Salaries and Reimbursements in Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to be provided by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury to the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH for consideration under an urgent procedure.

The Proposal Law complies with a conclusion of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentarian Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina from its 27th session of May 10, 2012, requiring the Council of Ministers of BIH to prepare a proposal law on amendments and supplements to the Law on Salaries and Reimbursements in Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to include BIH Parliamentarian Assembly deputies and delegates’ salaries, which provides the grounds for their decrease for 4.5 per cent.

The proposer, Ministry of Finance and Treasury will provide the Proposal Law to the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH for consideration under an urgent procedure.
