Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić, with his Deputies, Minsiter of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Šarović and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda held a meeting in Sarajevo with a Delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti. 

 In his statement for press, Chairman Zvidić reminded that the EBRD has been present in BIH for over 20 years and that it represents the most important creditor, which invested more than EUR two billion.

 “The meeting he have held raised optimism. The EBRD Delegation was up-dated on indictors speaking of strengthening of BIH business environment and growth of all vital economic parameters”, Chairman Zvizdić said.

 The meeting discussed the construction of motorways, roads and fast roads and investment into energy efficacy.

 Following the meeting, Minister Bevanda and President Chakrabarti signed a Loan Contract, worth EUR 4.5 million for construction of water supply pipeline in the Municipality of Visoko. Minister Bevanda emphasised that the signing of the Contract means the first step of solving the issue of water supply for about 12,000 citizens of the Municipality of Visoko., adding that the project was planned to be completed by the end of 2019, and that the loan term is 15 years with a three-year grace period.

 Amra Babić, Major of the Municipality of Visoko signed a Contract on support for reconstruction and construction of water pipeline in Visoko with the EBRD President, thus fulfilling conditions for the local utility company to start planned works.

 Chakrabarti expressed his pleasure for his visit to BIH in the year of reforms progressing and when the EBRD expect record-breaking investments of EUR 200 million.

 “By the end of year we expect the EBRD to have invested cumulatively EUR two billion in the twenty-year period of time, which has been implemented through 140 projects. For the next year we expect the investments to grow“, Chakrabarti said.

 He added that the Reform Agenda implementation is visible in BIH, as are other measures relevant to tis road to the EU.

 “We will continue working on infrastructure projects, improvement of business environment, privatisation projects, as well as on the SMEs sector, and areas of women business projects, energy efficacy and youth employment”, Chakrabarti said.
