Chairwoman Krišto in Meeting with COWEB Work Group for Western Balkans

Chairwoman oof the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto held a meeting today with representatives of COWEB Work Group for the Western Balkans, discussing topicalities on the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regional cooperation and necessity of open issues solving.
Chairwoman Krišto highlighted a firm commitment of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for continuation for the European integrations process, emphasising that the progress achieved needs to be additionally boosted by implementation of the remaining reform priorities. An importance of strengthening of the rule of law was underlined, with effectivity of institutions and harmonisation of legislation with the European Union acquis.
A special intention was paid to Bosnia and Herzegovina Election Law reform, as one of the key preconditions for further democratic development and functionality of institutions. Achieving a sustainable solution is necessary for securing equality of constitutive people and other citizens and for stable operation of the political system, as well.
In the context of regional cooperation, a maintenance of stability and boosting regional economic development were pointed as the key factors. A need was highlighted for further strengthening of good neighbourly relations, markets connection and exchange of experience in reform implementation on the road to the European Union membership.
At the end of the meeting, readiness was confirmed for continuation of intensive cooperation and partner relations, for the aim of acceleration of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European road and strengthening of stability of the whole region. (end)
