Chairman of the Council of ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić talked in Sarajevo with the IFC Delegation, led by IFC Director Tomasz Telma. 

Chairman Zvizdić express his pleasure with the previous cooperation with international financial institutions, and thanked for all projects implemented over the past twenty years. He noted results being achieved in the recent period of time on the Reform Agenda realisation, saying that at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina total 53 per cent of scheduled measures were realised in the past 12 months, noting that the Reform Agenda was adopted as a four-year programme.

“With the help of international financial institutions, which pledged their resources, and through a joint strategy with the Council of Ministers of BIH we managed to develop Bosnia and Herzegovina and maintain peace and stability”, Chairman Zvizdić said at the meeting.

The IFC Director congratulated to Chairman Zvizdić for a significant success, resulting in yesterday’s decision of the European Union Council for General Affairs decision to accept BIH application for membership in the European Union, and commended the progress in the realisation of the Reform Agenda tasks. He said that international financial institutions will continue supporting BIH in future.

The agreed that a business conductive environment and investments are necessary to improve in future. Chairman Zvizdić said that in the international financial institutions funds structure, resources should be reserved for SMEs, so that conditions would be created for as many as young people in BIH to be employed, as well as for the energy efficacy projects.

Other that IFC Regional Director for Western Balkans Tomasz Telma, the meeting was attended by World Bank Director for South-East Europe Ellen Goldstein, and World Bank BIH and Montenegro Office Director Tatiana Proskuryakova.
