Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić, together with his deputies, Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH Mirko Šarović, talked today in Sarajevo with a Delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti. 

The topic of the meeting was an annual meeting of the ERBRD Boar of Governors, to be held in Sarajevo. Chairman Zvizidć expressed his gratitude to President Chakrabarti and the whole EBRD  team  for the fact that the EBRD has to date invested over EUR two billion to BIH, and expressed his pleasure for Bosnia and Hercegovina will be the host of the next Annual meeting of EBRD Governors for 2919, which will gather a number of potential investors. He informed the meeting of the current state of affairs in BIH in both economic and political terms, saying that over the past period of time, through reforms in key areas implemented, a notable progress was made in economic development and on the Euro-Atlantic integrations road.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked to years-long dedication and engagement of the EBRD in Bosnia nd Herzegovina, adding that the outcome of that cooperation is a great number of implemented extremely important infrastructure and other projects relevant to economic reconstruction and development of BIH.

President Chakrabarti commended preparatory work for the annual meeting, saying that the EBRD will in the period to come, other than infrastructure, invest to sustainable energy, strengthening of SMEs and promotion of PPPs, as one of successful development models in certain sectors, which will contribute to the improvement of investment climate in BIH and the region.

The annual EBRD Governors meeting 2019 in Sarajevo is considered one of the most important events in BIH, because of arrival of about three thousand persons, of which 67 EBRD Governors, and a number of businessmen and investors from around the world. In the course of the two-day Annual Meeting, a meeting of EBRD Governors Board, Business Forum and events for civil society representatives are planned to take place.
