Chairman Zvizdić with Delegation of city Management of Tianjin

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć received in Sarajevo a delegation of Tianjin City Management, led by Deputy Major Zhao Haishan. 

Chairman Zvizidć said that the cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Republic of China witnesses a high growth though the “Single Belt – Single Road” umbrella Project, under which significant projects were launched. He added that he is glad for the fact that the cooperation starts to unfold at the lower administration levels as well, to contribute to progress in many fields like culture, education, tourism, and will help creating new investment possibilities, especially in infrastructure improvement. He emphasised that cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina may learn a lot about local development from Tianjin, especially concerning tourism and free trade zones.

Deputy Major Haishan presented to Chairman Zvizdić a rich history and development experiences of Tianjin city, which is the cultural and economic centre of North China and one of world’s major ports. He said that he fact that cities of Sarajevo and Tianjin are brother cities since 1981 represents a solid basis for the improvement of cooperation in many areas. He emphasised the interest for cooperation in the areas of culture, sports and education, which opens the way for cooperation in the area of tourism.

Chairman Zvizidć pointed out the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s side for cooperation in education and culture though cooperation of universities, and improvement of cooperation in tourism. He stressed that BIH is especially interested for transfer of knowledge and new technologies, as well as in education and cultural projects to include many Bosnia and Herzegovina cities.

Deputy Major Haishan presented to Chairman Zvizdić a gift – canvas woven by children of Tianjin, accompanied by an invitation to visit their city.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in BIH Chen Bo.
