Chairman Zvizdić Talks with Council of Europe PS President Anne Brasseur

signed the Visitors Book (Livre d’Or).
He thanked for the initiation and an opportunity to address before the Council of Europe in time when Bosnia and Herzegovina chairs the institution.
“Chairing of the Council of Europe represents a great honour and responsibility for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it gives a considerable chance to Bosnia and Herzegovina to prove itself as a credible partner”, Chairman Zvizdić said during the meeting, and expressed his pleasure for the extremely good chairing process to date.
President Brasseur commended the adoption of a series of strategies, along with the economic reform agenda, saying that it is the only proper way towards het European Union. They discussed the refuge crisis in Europe and possibilities for its overcoming.
Chariman Zvizidć said that the Council of Ministers of BIH adopted operative plans, that we monitor the situation in the region and that BIH is ready to, if needed, receive refugees. He said that Europe is founded on the principles of freedom, tolerance and equality and that these are, in fact, the values that make refugees stream to Europe.
President Brasseur congratulated to recent reopening of the National Museum, showing her interest about the operation and funding of seven cultural institutions in BIH.
Chairman Zvizdić said that culture and sports represent the relevant ambassador of BIH, and that he sees them as one of instruments of unification of the whole BIH, which is especially true for the young population.
The meeting was attended by BIH Ambassador in the Council of Europe Almir Šahović.
