Chairman Zvizdić in official visit to Morocco

During the meeting, Chairman Zvizdić thanked for political and humanitarian assistance the Kingdom of Morocco extended over the past period to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He briefed the president of the Government with the current economic and political situation in BIH and of progress on the European road.
Chairman Zvizdić and President of the Government El Otmani agreed that although the cooperation between BIH and the Kingdom of Morocco is at a high level, it is not followed by like economic cooperation, and that in the period to come the focus should be at tighter linking of business communities.
Chairman Zvizdić said that there is an interest on the BIH side for more intensified cooperation, especially in the areas of special purpose, metal, wood processing, food and textile industries, as well as tourism, culture and education. Chairman Zvizdić said that the tourism sector made a considerable growth over the last three years, and invited citizens of Morocco to visit BIH. He said it is necessary to continue activities on visa liberalisation. He emphasised the importance of signing of a Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement. They also discussed the signing of an Agreement on Cooperation in Air Traffic, agreeing that opening of a direct air line between BIH and Morocco would considerably improve a possibility for exchange of both tourists and goods.
He said that BIH has a great export potential, stressing that his delegation includes BIH businessmen to present their potentials at a business forum to be held in Casablanca tomorrow.
Chairman Zvizdić informed the President of the Government on Euro-Atlantic aspirations, saying that these processes lead Bosnia and Herzegovina towards economic progress and membership in the European Union.
President Al Otmani thanked for the visit, and said that Morocco wants to cooperate with BIH in all areas, paying a special attention to the support and exchange of investments between the two countries. He emphasised the cooperation in agriculture, as well as education, sports and culture.
Chairman Zvizdić said BIH is open for cooperation in all areas, and stressed the importance of opening of Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in BIH.
Chairman Zvizdić invited the President of Government of the Kingdom of Morocco to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Federation of BIH Fadil Novalić.
Before the meeting with the President of Government, Chairman Zvizdić visited the Mausoleum of HH Mohamed V and the grave of HH Hassan II, and signed the Golden Book.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić talked today in Rabat with President of the parliament House of Representatives Habib El-Malki and President of the House of Councillors Abdelhakim Benchemas on bilateral relations of BIH and the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the meeting they emphasised that the relations between the two countries are good and friendly, which results in the signed bilateral agreements, but noting that that there is enough space for the improvement of economic cooperation.
Chairman Zvizdić said Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to strengthen and improve the cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco in all areas.
He said it is necessary to strengthen the economic ties, and added that at tomorrow’s business forum, businessmen form Bosnia and Herzegovina will present concrete projects to potential investors.
El Malki and Benchemas said that the Parliamentarian delegations of BIH and the Kingdom of Morocco have good cooperation and that the economic ties get better each year.
Chairman Zvizdić informed President of the House of representatives Habib El Malki and President of House of Councillors Abdelhakim Benchman with positive breakthroughs of BIH on its road to the EU membership and expressed his expectation that Map and membership in NATO will be activated soon.
The meeting expressed its commitment to improve cooperation in future at all fields and to pay additional effort to increase investments.
The official visit was scheduled to continue tomorrow by an address of Chairman Zvizdić and President of Government of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Business Forum in Casablanca.
