Chairman Zvizdić at Opening of Hranjen Tunnel Construction Site

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić attended a ceremony of the start of works for construction of Hranjen tunnel, at Hrenovice site, within the Sarajevo-Goražde fast road construction. 

Chairman Zvizdić said in his address that it is a project for all citizens of the Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton, for the future of their children and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a prosperous country in which they will live.

He stressed that the council of Ministers has already started an initiative towards OPEC Fund, in order to secure funds in amount of EUR 62 million and close the financial construction for the following two phases of the Sarajevo-Goražde fast road construction. He added that this project is of the extreme importance for further economic and social development of Goražde, Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton and the Easter Bosnia.

The total length of the Hranjen tunnel is 6 km, and the planned fast road will shorten travel on Sarajevo-Goražde for 45 minutes. The deadline for the end of works ion tunnel is 36 months.

The beginning of works proceeds within a programme of marking of March 1, the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton I Goražde.
