Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić and Minister of Civil Affairs Adil Osmanović received Managers of the BIH Basketball and Handball National Selection Igor Stojanović and Mirza Muzurović, respectively. They discussed a possibility of a systematic funding for the sake of improvement of training conditions for the national selections which achieved supreme results. 

Managers Stojanović and Muzurović emphasised a fact that the national selections are at this moment comprised exclusively of domestic payers from around Bosnia and Herzegovina, underlining the importance of encouraging the youth to get actively involved in sports. They added that a team paying gives a possibility to develop skills needed for a young person.

Manager Stojanović said that the basketball national selection has brought a medal -  the first one after year 1979 , when the ‘Bosnia’ Basketball Club was the European Champion -  from Georgia, which was followed by the European title. He said that junior selection was the fourth in Europe and that female team has also had significant results.

Pointing out his confidence in capabilities of our handball national selection, Manager Muzurović expressed his hope that the national selection will participate at the World Championship to take place in France next year.

Chairman Zvizdić said that the Council of Ministers of BIH supported, within its possibilities, the junior basketball national selection last year, but that it is the time to agree about a continuous funding, with developed criteria for equal supporting BIH sports federations.

Managers Stojanović and Muzurović thanked to Chairman Zvizdić and Minister Osmanović for the constructive meeting, and expressed their hope that the Council of Ministers of BIH will find a way to supports athletes representing BIH at international competitions.
