Chairman Zvizdić and Minister Bevanda with IMF Executive Director in Washington

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić and Deputy Chairman and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met in Washington, D.C. in separate meetings with new Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Anthony de Lannoy and with IMF European Department Director Paul Thomsen. 

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for the previous cooperation, saying that an IMF arrangement is important because, other than money support it presumes also structural reforms to be implemented by all-level authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that the Council of Ministers of BIH takes measures, defined under the Letter of Intent, and noted that a general consent to reforms targeting strengthening both legislative and expert frameworks in BIH.

Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda said all agreed requirements were fulfilled and that the budget drafting process for the next year is currently on-going, so it is expected to be prepared by the end of this year.

Executive Director Lannoy and Europe Department Director Thomsen share their estimation that a good progress was made in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that implementation of agreed-to tasks goes well.

The meeting were attended by Governor of the Central Bank of BIH Senad Softić, BIH Ambassador in the USA Haris Hrle, and the Entity Prime Ministers and Finance Ministers.
