Chairman Zvizdić and Minister Bevanda with IM F and WB Officials in Washington

At their separate meetings with Vice-President of the World Bank for European region Cyrill Muller, Executive Director of the Would Bank Frank Heemskerk and World Bank Director for Western Balkans Ellen Goldstein emphasised was the satisfaction with the current process of projects implementation. They congratulated to BIH for submission of an application for the membership in the European Union.
The meeting concluded that the BIH authorities have completed and implemented all previous requirements as preconditions for the first tranche under recently approved extended IMF Arrangement, while the pending requirements, targeting further improvement of business environment and harmonisation of relevant legislative, including further sector reforms, will be implemented by the end of this year.
Chairman Zvizdić said the Council of Ministers of BIH works intensively on creating the ambient for foreign investment attraction and on improvement of competitiveness of the country. Taking the opportunity to thank for a cns8iderable technical and expert assistance extended by both the Would Bank and IMF. He said Bosnia and Herzegovina will engage for a strict sticking to agreed-to obligations, and stressed that implementation of the agreed reforms means strengthening of numerous sectors, better legislative framework and legal and economic security for both domestic and foreign investors.
They discussed the banking sector reform to be implemented based on the best standards, in addition to SMEs development, health sector and energy efficacy projects.
The meeting agreed that all in Bosnia and Herzegovina are ready for reform implementation and that the agreed reforms are in the function of economic development and that the economy have to be the primary focus of activities of all governments.
The meetings were attended by BIH Central Bank Governor Senad Softić, BIH Ambassador in the USA, and Entity Prime Minister and Finance Ministers.
