Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H Dr. Nikola Špririć talked in Washington with US Assistant Deputy Secretary of State for Europe and Euroasia Steward Johns, whom he briefed of the current political situation in B-H. 

At the meeting held at the State Department, Špirić said that the long-term stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina is only guaranteed through a compromise and internal dialogue of legitimate political representatives on all outstanding issues.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H said that it is possible to build-up a functional state based on the Dayton Agreement, but that the constant undermining of the Dayton foundations creates instability.

Špirić said that all challenges must be addressed based on the solutions stemming from inside, not outside of B-H.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers assessed that the progress of B-H requires a new doze of optimism, which could be generated based on visa regime liberalisation for B-H citizens and accession of B-H into the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP). Špirić sough US support for these goals.
