Chairman of Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda Meets with Ambassador of Republic of Italy

Chairman of the Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda talked in Sarajevo today with Ambassador of Republic of Italy in BIH Raimondo de Cardona and Secretary General of the Peoples and Religions of the Community of Sant ‘Egidio Alberto Quattruci. They discussed the organisation of the International Meeting for Peace, to be held in Sarajevo, on September 9-11, 2012. 

“It is with a great pleasure to accept that the Council of Ministers of BIH sponsors this major convention and I am looking forward to having an opportunity to host prominent persons and religious dignitaries from the whole world. With a few thousands of participants of the convention, this event will serve best to realise a dialogue between cultures and religions that promotes peace and co-existence”, Chairman Bevanda said at today’s meeting.

Ambassador Cardona said that the Community of Sant ‘Egidio has already organised  14 conventions of the kind, and stressed that the initiative was launched in cooperation with the Islamic Community, Serb Orthodox Church, Vrhbosanska Archdiocese and Jewish Community in BIH, and that the convention represents a major religious and political dialogue event. According to Cardona, this is one in a series of annual meetings organised by the community over the last 25 years.

He also informed Chairman Bevanda that the arrival was announced also by Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy Mario Monti. On this occasion an official meeting between the Italian prime Minister and Chariman Bevanda was agreed.
