Chairman of Council of Ministers Receives IMF Delegation

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H dr Nikola Špirić received Head of the International Monetary Fund Mission (IMF) Kostas Hristou and IMF Resident Representative in B-H Milan CuC, in Sarajevo. 

It was assessed that the cooperation between B-H and IMF to date has had a stabilising macroeconomic role at the times of global economic crisis.

Chairman Špirić stressed that first indicators for 2011 are encouraging in terms of the GDP growth and indirect tax revenues increase, but the absence of readiness of a dialogue is to be singled out as a point for concern.

Chairman Špirić said that a continuation and dynamics of economic recovery in the period to come depends mostly of structural reforms and political power to implement them.

At the meeting they discussed various modalities of future B-H - IMF cooperation and prospective continuation of fulfilment of adjustment measures, set forth under IMF Stand-By Arrangement related policies.
